Inquests

Our Inquest team regularly deals with the most complex of matters before Coroners throughout England and Wales. Many of the inquests are Article 2 inquests in which the Coroner is called to address wider issues, such as the need to take steps to prevent future deaths.

Our experience includes:

  • Representing the Welsh Ministers as an interested party at an inquest.
  • Acting in the inquest into the death of Mason Jones, post the E.coli inquiry.
  • Acting in an application for the Attorney General’s Fiat to apply to reopen that inquest following the conclusion of related criminal proceedings.

As the Head of the Regulatory Department, Martin acts in a wide-range of regulatory crime and professional regulation matters. Martin has built up over 20 years of experience and a wealth of specialist knowledge.

He leads the firm’s cross-departmental alcohol and gaming licensing teams. Additionally Martin manages the teams providing a range of outsourced services to local authorities, including court representation of local authorities Adult and Children’s Services Departments.
