Elder abuse claims
Elder abuse compensation claims
Unfortunately, mentally incapacitated patients and elderly patients are a particular section of society that are vulnerable to abuse.
Whilst the vast majority of hospitals and care homes in England and Wales are reputable establishments staffed by caring, properly trained employees, cases of abuse and neglect sadly do occur.
Elderly neglect and abuse
Neglect and abuse can leave the victim with physical and emotional injuries. Vulnerable patients often cannot speak for themselves and people who are physically, emotionally or psychologically frail and dependent on others for care are most at risk of abuse. Abuse and neglect can happen in care homes, hospitals and at the patients property if they are receiving care at home.

How can we help?
Our solicitors specialise in personal injury claims based on neglect or abuse of vulnerable patients.
You will receive top quality legal representation from an experienced solicitor.
Whilst an award of damages by a court of law cannot negate the suffering experienced by a victim of neglect or abuse, it can help the victim feel a restored sense of dignity and the financial award can make life a little more comfortable for them in the future.
We treat every client with sensitivity and care, whilst aiming at the same time to deliver results including the highest financial settlement possible.
We are able to assist you on a no win, no fee basis.
If after talking to us, you decide not to take matters further you are under no obligation to do so and you will not be charged for our initial advice session.
We are dedicated to your best interests and can advise you on how to proceed.
We have a devoted Court of Protection team who can also assist with issues relating to patient’s mental capacity, well-being and decision making.
Furthermore, Hugh James can provide advice and assistance in relation to sexual abuse claims. If you or someone you know could benefit from this assistance, please contact us.
Many elderly people are residents in nursing care homes. We have a nursing care department who can advise on financial issues relating to nursing fees.
