Kieran Forsyth

Kieran is a Senior Associate in the London Private Wealth Disputes Team. His clients value his strong litigation nous and technical skills, and the results he delivers clients are reflected in his wins.

Work highlights include advice to Hugh James Trust Corporation in the reported case of Pegler v McDonald [2022] EWHC 2405 (Ch) and the follow-on litigation arising from it. The reported decision of Dunbabin & Ors. v. Dunbabin [2022] EWHC 241 (Ch) is also a key case of Kieran’s, which advanced the principles to the law of severance of joint tenancies within the context of a disputed estate.

Much of Kieran’s work involves complex legal arguments including high value proprietary/promissory estoppel matters, lifetime gift litigation, will validity disputes, executor disputes, and Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims and joint tenancy severance disputes.

In addition to the traditional Private Wealth Disputes areas, Kieran works in the growing field of cryptocurrency and digital asset disputes. Such disputes focus on recovery of such assets which have either been lost or fraudulently taken. His focus is particularly in relation to estate planning and disputes involving the recovery of such assets both onshore and offshore.
