June Parry

June Parry is an associate who joined Hugh James in 1977.  June works in the Workplace Disease and Illness department and has built her expertise in claimant personal injury, specifically in industrial injury claims such as respiratory claims and cancer and group litigation.

June was heavily involved in the preparation of the Phurnacite group litigation trial and the British Coal Coke Oven Workers group litigation trial where claims were brought for respiratory disease and cancer.

June has also been heavily involved in the British Steel Coke Oven workers group litigation, where claims were brought for respiratory disease and cancer on behalf of previous workers at former British Steel coke works in South Wales and England.

More recently, June is heavily involved in a group of claims of workers who allege that they suffer from respiratory disease and cancer as a result of their employment at British Coal’s Coventry Homefire plant, and workplace related disease and illness claims such as COPD and occupational asthma.

Experience

Preparation for and attending the first three weeks of the Phurnacite litigation trial in Cardiff, a complex group action where men working at the Phurnacite Plant, Aberdare were exposed to harmful dust and fume, and in the involvement in the successful judgment.

Preparation for and attending part of the British Coal Coke Worker litigation trial in London, a complex group action where men working at coke works in South Wales and England were exposed to harmful dust and fume, and in the involvement in the successful judgment.

What do you like to do outside work?

Going for walks, jogging, travel, spending time with friends and family.
