The specialist asbestos team at Hugh James have been instructed by the family of the late Mr Peter Davies to investigate a civil compensation claim following his diagnosis with asbestos related lung cancer, Mesothelioma.
They understand that Mr Davies worked with asbestos at various points in his career as a carpenter. This includes Helyg Developments Ltd between 1975 and 1978 and Silvaglide Building Products (Wales) Ltd in the tax year 1977/78.
They also believe Mr Davies worked with asbestos during his time working for Jamson estates possibly in the 1970s or 1980s. He subsequently worked for P.I.W at various sites in the Aberystwyth area in the late 1980s and 1990s
Mr Davies’ family is now appealing for help from former colleagues who might be able to shed some light on the use of asbestos with the above employers.

Mr Davies’ ’s family commented:
“It was a huge shock when Pete was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. Pete think he was exposed while working for PIW, Jamson Estates or Helyg Developments as a carpenter. We would be grateful of any information anyone is able to provide as to how asbestos was used by either of these companies .
Asbestos related solicitor at Hugh James’ Cardiff office Angharad Jones has said:
“It would be really beneficial to be able to speak to some of Mr Davies’s former work colleagues. I would encourage anyone who has information about asbestos exposure at the above companies to come forward, even if they didn’t work directly with Mr Davies. Mr Davies’ family will be extremely grateful to anyone who is able to provide assistance.
Anyone who worked with Mr Pete Davies, or who worked for Helyg Developments, PIW, Jamson or Silvaglide Building Products, who has information regarding asbestos exposure should contact Angharad Jones at Hugh James on 02920 391 100.
