We’re pleased to announce a partnership with The Breathe Clinic, bringing wellness masterclasses aimed at improving physical and mental health to their employees. The collaboration is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to investing in wellbeing.
The Breathe Clinic, led by wellness expert Chris Flynn, will deliver corporate wellness masterclasses which started at our award-winning Two Central Square office in Cardiff on Monday 10 October. The sessions focus on sleep, breathwork, and improving focus and attention – three essential areas for maintaining peak performance and health.
Diane Brooks, HR Director, commented:
“We’re proud to partner with The Breathe Clinic to offer wellness sessions to our employees. At Hugh James, the wellbeing of our colleagues is a top priority. These new sessions support the firm’s wellbeing policy and help to provide our colleagues with practical strategies for enhancing their health and happiness both at work and in their personal lives.”
She added:
“Following the success of our Cardiff sessions, we’re committed to taking The Breathe Clinic to our London and Manchester offices over the coming months.”
The new initiative is just one element of the wider “HJ Potential” employee development programme, which is dedicated to supporting employees to fulfil their potential, professionally and personally. The firm has introduced a wide range of support systems to help employees thrive, from comprehensive learning and development resources to peer support networks.
Chris Flynn added:
“At The Breathe Clinic, we focus on the fundamentals of physical health: breathing, sleep, mindset, nutrition, hydration, and movement. We’re happy to be supporting Hugh James in their dedication to employee health. It’s admirable the firm recognises the importance of supporting staff with the tools and information they need to thrive in work and at home.”
In addition to wellness workshops, we offer a broad range of wellbeing initiatives designed to support staff at every stage of their personal and professional journeys:
- We have trained Mental Health First Aiders across all offices, providing employees with access to peer support and early intervention when needed. All employees have access to the Employee Assistance Programme, Health Assured, which is available 24/7, offering confidential guidance on health, financial, and emotional challenges.
- Our internal networks, including the Menopause Champions and Parent Support Group, create safe spaces for employees to connect, share experiences, and receive targeted support. Employee-led networks a prominent role in the firm’s recent Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Festival, further showcasing our commitment to a fair and inclusive workplace.
- Walking Wednesdays, set up by Director of Business Services Ioan Prydderch, encourages employees to spend time away from their desks while walking and connecting with colleagues. The initiative began with the firm’s business division at Cardiff’s nearby Bute Park and has since rolled out across all our offices, supporting both mental and physical health.
- We also offer a wide array of training opportunities designed to empower employees with skills that not only improve their work performance but also enhance their emotional resilience. Training includes courses on navigating difficult conversations, overcoming stress, and promoting self-confidence.
