Top 100 UK law firm, Hugh James, has been named the ‘Best Probate Law Firm: Wales’ at the Probate Research Awards 2021 – the second consecutive year the firm has won the award.
The firm’s Trusts and Estates Administration team is one of the largest in the UK and deals with probate and estate administration work on a national basis. It also has a large dedicated Contested Wills, Trusts and Estates team that handles contentious probate and trusts, both on and offshore.
Held on Thursday 29 April, TV personality and Barrister, Judge Rob Rinder, announced the winners at the virtual awards, known in the sector as the ‘Probies’.
The best law firm award recognises not only the excellence of the services solicitor firms deliver, but also the best support they provide to probate researchers.
The team acts of behalf of financial institutions, trust corporations and lay executors and trustees and has many well-known brands as clients including high street banks, building societies, charities, and a nationwide network of funeral directors. Hugh James also has its own trust corporation, the Hugh James Trust Corporation Limited, which regularly acts as executor and trustee.
Reacting to the news, Head of the Hugh James Trusts and Estates Administration department, Partner Eleanor Evans, said today:
We’re thrilled to have won the Best Law Firm: Wales Award at the Probate Research Awards, for the second year running! Congratulations to our fantastic, hard-working team, who thoroughly deserve this recognition.
Partner Matthew Evans, who is Head of the Private Wealth department, added:
We’re delighted that the team has won this award, which is a testament to both the breadth and depth of our knowledge across the whole of the private client sphere and the incredibly hard work that the whole team has undertaken in the last, very difficult, year.
