Hugh James will become an Official Legal Partner of Cardiff Blues this summer after signing a three-year deal with Wales’ Capital Region.
The top 100 UK law firm, based at Two Central Square, Cardiff, will take pride of place on the back of all first team jerseys and have additional branding around the iconic Arms Park.
The partnership follows on from a strengthening of ties between the two businesses with Alun Jones, managing partner at Hugh James, succeeding Peter Thomas as chairman of the Blues in January of this year.
As part of the partnership Hugh James will also provide legal support to the region on commercial and property matters.
Speaking about the partnership, Joe Purcell, Director of Business Development and Marketing said:
“We are delighted to have agreed a partnership with the Blues for the next three seasons. There is plenty to be optimistic about both on and off the field and we certainly see this partnership as a great opportunity for our staff and clients to support and engage with the exciting ambitions of the region.
“As a business committed to supporting the communities in which our clients and staff live and work, we also see our partnership with the Blues as an opportunity to help promote and develop health and wellbeing through sport.
“Hugh James has a long track record of working with clients in the sport sector and we will certainly do our utmost to support the Blues on the commercial front with any legal services they require.”
Cardiff Blues chief executive, Richard Holland said:
“We’re delighted to bring Wales’ leading law firm on board and are excited about developing this partnership for the long-term.
“We are looking forward to working closely with Hugh James as they continue to grow their business across the UK. We welcome Hugh James as an Official Partner of Cardiff Blues joining a host of other national and international businesses supporting Wales’ Capital City Region.”
