Hugh James advises Reducate Edtech Group on UK acquisition of Oxford Medical Training

We are pleased to have advised Dutch-headquartered Reducate Edtech Group on the acquisition by its UK subsidiary, Reducate UK, of Edinburgh-based Oxford Medical Training.

Reducate is a leading EdTech company focused on online Continuing Professional Education (e-CPE). They provide professionals with a comprehensive e-learning platform with all the necessary resources to develop their careers.

Oxford Medical Training focuses on training and development courses for doctors and medical professionals.

With this strategic acquisition, the group enters the UK market and makes a significant move toward becoming the leading provider of Online Continuing Professional Education (eCPE) in Europe. The group already serves over 175,000 professionals across more than 40 different professions, and with this acquisition, thousands of doctors in the UK will be added to its portfolio.

Commenting on the deal, Christiaan van Hardeveld, Director M&A at Reducate Edtech Group, said:

“The acquisition of Oxford Medical is a crucial step in our buy-and-build strategy and our first, and very important, step into the UK.”

Gerallt Jones, Head of our corporate/commercial team, led the deal, with support from corporate Associate Matt Detheridge, employment Partner Claire Tait, and employment Solicitor Hannah Spencer.

Gerallt said:

“We were delighted to assist Reducate Edtech Group with their initial acquisition in the UK as part of their exciting “buy and build” strategy. The acquisition not only strengthens their position in the UK market but also enhances their commitment to providing top-tier online education for professionals across Europe..”
