Jesus Fellowship redress scheme

The Jesus Army (Jesus Fellowship) has today announced the launch of the individual redress scheme, which is a scheme to compensate members, including children, who suffered emotional, physical and/or sexual abuse whilst in the organisation.

The scheme is open to applications from 26 September 2022 to 31 December 2023.

The application will need to include proof of ID as well as a witness statement, detailing life before, during and after the Jesus Army. The scheme will provide payment for solicitors’ fees so that victims and survivors don’t have go through the process alone or face paying some of their compensation to a solicitor.

We are experienced in dealing with abuse claims against various religious organisations, including the Jesus Army, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Church of England, Catholic Church, Methodist Church, and others.

We have considerable experience of guiding and representing clients in various redress schemes for example: Jersey; Lambeth; Northern Ireland; and Savile. It is very important that survivors have the benefit of experienced lawyers (at no cost to themselves) to navigate what can be quite complex qualifying procedures.

We understand the very particular difficulties and sensitivities that victims and survivors of abuse in religious communities confront.

As the victim and survivor of sexual abuse you have the right to be heard and understood. We are here to listen to your story, openly and without judgment, and to provide you with sound advice.

Free confidential chat

If you’ve experienced sexual abuse in any form, you have every right to make a claim for damages, and we’re here to advise and support you through the legal process. We will:

  • Speak to you in confidence
  • Listen and advise

  • Only do what you ask us to do

You are in control – you haven’t started a process you can’t stop.
