Rebecca is an Associate in the Group Actions team specialising in environmental matters.
Rebecca acts for communities across England and Wales who are affected by various forms of environmental nuisance and homeowners of blighted properties, devalued by road or airport expansions, who wish to take action under Part 1 of the Land Compensation Act 1973.

Work history
Rebecca joined the Environment Team at Hugh James in June 2012 and commenced her training contract with the firm in September 2015. Rebecca rejoined the team upon qualifying in March 2017 and became an Associate solicitor in March 2019.
Rebecca has amassed many years’ experience assisting affected communities who have suffered nuisances such as odour, noise and dust as well as those who have pursued claims under Part 1 of the Land Compensation Act. She has secured successful judgements for clients in the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) as well as settlements out of court and is experienced in providing advice during mediations. Rebecca also has experience in the Court of Appeal.
Rebecca takes a leading role in claims brought under Part 1 of the Land Compensation Act 1973. Recently this has included obtaining compensation for claims advanced on behalf of a group of 180 homeowners in proceedings in the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber), brought in respect of a runway extension at London Southend airport.
