20 October 2022 saw the return of the British Wills and Probate Awards for its fifth year. Run by the Today’s Wills and Probate publication, the awards celebrate success in the wills and probate sector. The event was held at the Grand Hotel in Birmingham, where 250 wills and probate professionals attended in person, with over 400 watching the event on a live stream.
Eleanor Evans, Partner and Head of Trusts and Estates Administration at Hugh James acted as a judge for the awards, judging several categories for the second year running. The judging panel is made up of high-profile leaders within the sector, including Matthew Lagden of the Institute of Legacy Management, Lakshmi Turner of Solicitors for the Elderly, and Emily Deane of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners.
Our Private Wealth teams were shortlisted in three categories at the 2022 awards: Charity Legacy Probate Collaboration of the Year, Contentious Trusts and Probate Team of the Year, and Solicitor Firm of the Year – National. Amongst a record number of entries and stiff competition, we were delighted to win the award for Solicitor Firm of the Year – National, having also won this award in 2021.
Eleanor Evans said:
