Since 2005 Katie has exclusively undertaken clinical negligence work. She has experience in a wide variety of areas. Katie has a specialist interest in orthopaedic, gynaecological and cardiac claims and cases involving gall bladder injuries, as well as delays in diagnosis and missed diagnosis of cancer.
Katie is currently involved in a specialised investigation into the inappropriate prescription of anticonvulsant medication to pregnant ladies and the effects of the medication on babies in utero and the potentially significant care requirements needed by children born with mental and physical disabilities.
Katie runs free legal advice clinics in the Bridgend area and is always happy to provide free and impartial advice on any potential claim.
Katie has secured significant sums of compensation for many clients in successful cases but treats all cases equally irrespective of value.
Katie is on the Law Society Accreditation panel for Clinical Negligence. She is also a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 and is quoted as being a lawyer who “Displays real attention to detail and sensitivity in the way she handles cases”.
Katie is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Work history
Katie initially qualified into personal injury and litigation (2004) and spent nine months at Howells before moving to Lyons Davidson in 2005, where she solely practiced clinical negligence for five and a half years before moving to Hugh James in June 2010 where she continues to deal exclusively with clinical negligence claims. During her time at Hugh James she has advanced through Associate (2012), senior associate (2014) and currently sits as a partner (2017) in the Medical Negligence team.
