Profile
Ioan Prydderch is a Partner and Head
of the Construction, Energy and Projects Team at Hugh James. He has
extensive experience of advising clients in the construction and
engineering sector on both projects and the disputes that can
arise. The team acts for a range of high profile clients
ranging from government and public authorities to banks, developers
and contractors and has acted in a number of often high value and
complicated projects and disputes.
Recently Ioan acted in a substantial
adjudication over an extension of time and loss and expense claim
involving a national contractor. He and his team also
advise clients on procurement and projects including PPP/PFI
deals and renewable energy projects.
Currently Ioan is advising a client on
a wind farm project and recently advised Gwalia Housing Association
on the £40m University of Wales, Bangor PFI project. Clients also
include the Welsh Assembly Government,
Cardiff Council, Cowlin
Construction and Watkin Jones & Son.

Partner at Hugh James: 2006
Ioan qualified in 1999 at Hugh James. He then
joined Laytons in Bristol in 2001 specialising in
construction law and moved with the Laytons' construction team to
Clarke Willmott in 2005. Ioan returned to Hugh James in
2006 as a Partner in the Construction and Projects Team,
becoming head of the team in 2009.
