Testimonials

“This is the fifth University of Wales accommodation contract that Gwalia has won. It is the largest PFI contract for student accommodation that we have undertaken with a total value approaching £40million. The contract was complicated and negotiations were incredibly complex. I was delighted with the advice and support provided the  team. Hugh James advised on all aspects of the contract including the project agreement, the construction contract, the loan agreement and the leases with the University. We are working with Hugh James on a number of new and exciting schemes both in the social housing and university sectors.”

Michael Williams, Chief Executive, Grwp Gwalia

“This strongly client-focused firm is seen as “the antidote to old-school, airs and graces solicitors.” The construction team works hand in hand with the projects team, and the team’s strong PFI reputation remains a key part of its appeal.”

Chambers UK 2009

"In 2007 [the] team was involved in some substantial infrastructure projects, including the Parc Derwen, Bridgend Project, and the development of Barry Waterfront; in both projects, the team advised on the consortium agreement and ancillary contracts.”
