Chiropractic treatment

neck pain

Chiropractors focus on the spine and the nervous system.

Chiropractors treat problems with joints, bones and muscles, and the effects they have on the nervous system.

Chiropractic treatment

Treatment consists of a wide range of manipulation techniques (some very gentle) designed to improve the function of the joints, relieving pain and muscle spasm.

Chiropractic treatment is generally considered to be a complementary and alternative medicine - a characterization that many chiropractors reject.

When is chiropractic treatment used?

Chiropractic treatment is used for several health conditions including:

  • back, shoulder and neck pain
  • joint, posture and muscle pain
  • headaches and migraines
  • asthma
  • leg pain and sciatica
  • sports injuries
  • period problems
  • colic (babies)

Is chiropractic treatment effective?

Some studies show that chiropractic treatment can be effective for short-term pain relief for acute low back pain, but evidence is inconclusive. It may also be useful in migraine or tension headache treatment, but evidence is limited. While chiropractic treatment is accepted by many conventional medical practitioners, there is little scientific evidence to prove that it is effective.

Chiropractors can cause injury due to negligent treatment that is administered during a course of chiropractic treatment.

If you believe that you have a claim in relation to negligently performed chiropractic treatment, then please contact a member of our Specialist Team on 029 2039 1132.

The team was successful in two substantial claims, obtaining £4m for one claimant and over £5.5m for another. Other highlights included the successful prosecution of an informed consent case, funded by a conditional fee agreement. Rosser has been consulted by the Law Society in relation to the NHS Redress Proposals Measure. The department receives referrals from the Community Health Councils to provide patients with clinical negligence advice.”
